Kingswood Academy at a Glance

Kingswood Academy partners with parents to cultivate academic excellence and human virtues, inspiring each child to become a leader who lives by moral Catholic principals. Kingswood Academy provides a classical, virtue-based Catholic Education. The Classical Core Curriculum is a complete classical Christian curriculum that emphasizes the traditional liberal arts of language and mathematics, and the cultural heritage of Western Civilization as expressed in the great works of history and literature. The curriculum has an early focus on the basic skills of reading, writing, and arithmetic and a special emphasis on Latin. Latin is the best way to gain an academic vocabulary, to learn the formal system of grammar, and is, along with math, the best early critical thinking skills training. The curriculum study of the cultures of Athens and Rome, as well as Biblical and Church history, is designed to provide a basis for a proper understanding of European and American history.

At Kingswood Academy, our Catholic, classical curriculum forms the mind and heart of each child. Our students are taught to evaluate a subject through the lenses of truth, beauty, and goodness; always seeking to discover the Divine nature in all things. Our low student to teacher ratio means students are taught how to learn by teachers who are able to focus on each student as a person.  We do this by encouraging development in academic, social, emotional, spiritual, and physical growth.

Our curriculum is broad, balanced, and intended to help children engage with the greatest ideas found in the best books. Kingswood Academy’s rigorous academic program prepares students to excel in secondary schools of the highest caliber.

As stated in our mission we believe that parents are the first and most enduring educators of their children.  We are here to assist parents in passing on their religious and moral values by promoting a consistent message at school and in the social relationships of the extended school community.  Theology is part of every grade’s curriculum.  Along with daily Theology class, our students partake in weekly visits to our Marian Chapel for adoration and prayer as well as attend our weekly All-School Mass on Friday afternoons.  Our parents are invited to attend Mass with the students.  Our 4th through 8th-grade boys alternate as Altar Servers throughout the year, while each grade level rotates hosting a school Mass, which includes reading, intentions, and bringing up the gifts.

Throughout the year we celebrate special Feast Days and Holy Days of Obligations such as All Saints Day on November 1st which is proceeded by our traditional Saints Fair that is put on by our students in grades 2nd through 8th.  Students work across grade levels to highlight Saints who have lived out virtuous life in the search for the true, good and beautiful.  The virtues that the Saints displayed throughout their life is a catalyst for our virtue programs at Kingswood. Kingswood Academy Preschool program supports young students in the growth of their faith and virtues and develops their academic and social skills.
